Skills Study 03 - Mark Rothko

Throughout the practice of architecture, creating diagrams is essential to understanding one's own work as well as the work of others. It’s dissecting and distilling the work so that one can further understand what’s behind each design move or it’s to find the originating pattern or language. This skills study is to understand the abstract artist Mark Rothko. Though these are not an exact replica of his work, i.e. his choice of colors, the intent is still the same.
